Hey, it’s world health day Today!

April 7th is a day that is been declared and celebrated globally every year as world health day.

According to the World Health Organization, Health is defined as the complete physical mental and social wellbeing of an individual and merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

This definition is known as the universal definition of health and it’s given in the year 1948.

Health is wealth we say, without good health, wealth is nothing because you won’t be able to live and enjoy a good life,

Our health needs to be watched carefully,
That’s the reason you need to do everything to ensure you live an optimal healthy life,

To do this we need to live a healthy life by avoiding everything that can be detrimental to our health, such as;

  • Excessive alcohol intake
  • Having unprotected sex
  • Lack of physical activity
  • Tobacco consumption
  • High sugar intake
  • High intake of sodium( salt)
  • Not having enough sleep
  • Excessive junk intake

1948 was declared first world health assembly year, but it’s beginning to take effect in 1950,

Since then world health is been celebrated yearly on the 7th of April and it’s been recognized globally by both national and international health organizations.

A lot of changes has been done to health to ensure a healthy life for over 70 years all around the world such as;

Celebrating April 7th as a world health day

  • Placing more value on health
  • Ensuring equal access to health care
  • High priority to health
  • Adequate Nutrition and lots more
